Festival de Toronto 2017 terá filmes de Angelina Jolie e Darren Aronofsky

O Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), o Festival de Toronto, divulgou a primeira leva de filmes selecionados para o festival de 2017. Foram revelados 50 filmes que vão compor a programação.

mãe! (Darren Aronofsky), The Shape of Water (Guillermo del Toro), First They Killed My Father (Angelina Jolie), Suburbicon (George Clooney) e Downsizing (Alexander Payne) são alguns dos nomes que vão ser exibidos. O Festival de Toronto é um dos principais termômetros do Oscar e pode dar indícios de quais filmes serão fortes no Oscar 2018.

O festival também exibira I, Tonya, cinebiografia protagonizada por Margot Robbie, interpretando a ex-patinadora no gelo Tonya Harding. Battle of the Sexes, que traz Emma Stone e Steve Carrell, baseado em história real, também será exibido.

Os filmes acima fazem parte da “Special presentations” (“Apresentações especiais”). A categoria de apresentações especiais é composta por filmes que já foram exibidos em festivais que acontecem antes do Festival de Toronto, como o Festival de Veneza e Telluride, dos Estados Unidos.

Filmes ainda inéditos, que escolhem ter sua estreia mundial no TIFF, fazem parte da “Gala presentations” (“Apresentações de gala”). Na categoria serão apresentados filmes como Darkest Hour, de Joe Wright, Stronger, com Jake Gyllenhaal interpretando uma das vítimas do atentado à Maratona de Boston em 2013 e Breathe, longa de estreia do diretor Andy Serkis, com Andrew Garfield como protagonista.

O Festival de Toronto acontece entre 7 e 17 de setembro.
